is it ’09 yet?

I am tired. I was tired last fall, but I’m really tired now. By now we all know that the media is not neutral, they pick their champions. But right now, I can’t figure out whose side they’re on.

The NYT decided to blow a whistle on John McCain for having a lady lobbyist. Not the proverbial whistle. But a whistle nonetheless. It seems that maybe this was a preemptive whistle, though, and might’ve worked better with more research prior to actually blowing it.

CNN’s Headline News played a video montage of Hillary and Barack as Tom and Jerry with an Alicia Keys soundtrack (Fallin’) on that loop that they have [which seems to work out to about once every 20min.] I can’t find a link to the vid – but trust me, it is not a life-enriching piece of cinema. It was a slow news day, apparently. [They also reported on the fact that there was NOT a storm in Chicago today – mmhmm]

SNL and Tina Fey dug in for Hillary this weekend:

Vodpod videos no longer available. from www.nbc.com posted with vodpod
But Tina’s parting words created a ripple of backlash across the ‘tubes as bloggers of color and Obama supporters challenged her comment that “b*tch is the new black”. We all know that can be taken two ways, so – when she was on such a good roll for Hill – why’d she have to take it there? For some, her last comment takes away any validity her preceding statements might have had. And it seems like this is Hillary’s problem within her campaign, as well. So much good stuff, but then folks associated with her campaign, or her husband, or she herself, will say/do something that dances across the racist line when talking about Obama.

Then, this evening, I got an email from my dad (he loves to forward stuff, and though he doesn’t do this with any other form of media, he tends to believe everything that he gets in email form) ~

Ku Klux Klan Endorses Obama

Anything or anyone is better than Hillary Rodham Clinton

KENTUCKY – USA – Imperial Wizard, Ronald Edwards has stated that, “anything is better than Hillary Clinton.”

White Christian Supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan has endorsed Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States of America .

Speaking from his Kentucky office in Dawson Springs, the Imperial Wizard exclaimed that anything or anyone is better than having that “crazy ass bitch” as President.

This is the first time in Klan history that any member of the KKK has ever publicly supported an African American candidate for the presidency.

KKK lodges all over America have been gathering and holding rallies supporting the black presidential candidate.

KKK members in Tennessee rally against Hillary Clinton and support Barack Obama

Grand Turk Cletus Monroe has also been very vocal about the election and has donated thousands of dollars to Obama’s election fund.

“The boy’s gonna do it. My Klan group has donated up to $250,000 to the Obama fund. Anything is better than Hillary Clinton. Hell I’ll even adopt a black kid from Africa before I vote for Hillary.”

“A few years back we were lynching negroes. Now we’re gonna vote for one to be president of the US of motherfu**ing A, damn it! Anyone or anything is better than Hillary Clinton – anything!!”

Placards for Barack Obama have been put up around the Klan’s Headquarters and the KKK have announced a television ad campaign to support the African American candidate.

Although, according to snopes.com, this is a complete fabrication, courtesy the Daily Squib (a satire of a newpaper also running these headlines: Obama Vows to Repaint White House, Britney Spears Takes Out Restraining Order on Herself, Scientists Prove Jesus Walked with Dinosaurs).

What’s going on?

Are we being set up? Is W gonna come out on November 4 and say “April Fool! – while you guys were playing at democracy, I had it written into the Constitution that I am the Royal Panjandrum until global warming kills us all!” Or…what?

I’m just tired.
